Greening Up the Mountains 5K

  • This 5K is held on the fourth Saturday in April, in conjunction with the annual spring festival, Greening Up the Mountains. This is a flat, fun, and family friendly event. Registration begins in early February. Registration fee is $15.00 pre-registered, and $20.00 on race day. 

Easter Egg Hunt

  • This is an Easter themed event open to ages ten and under. Come early for pictures with the bunny before the egg hunt begins. Prizes are awarded for finders of the “golden egg”, but treats are inside all the other eggs. This event is free.

Lyle Cabe Classic Golf Tournament

  • Annual golf tournament held at Trillium Links and Lake Club. For more information or to register please contact either one of our Recreation Centers.

Kids Learn to Fish Day

  • Fish Day is held the first Saturday in June. Open to ages seven through thirteen. North Carolina Sportsman’s Association, as well as the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, offer a casting and BIG fish contest with the opportunity for children to catch their very own trout from Cullowhee Creek. Pumpkin Patch

  • This is a Halloween themed special event. It will be held Tuesday, October 31st from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Bridge Park in downtown Sylva. It will be held in conjunciton with Treat Street. This free event is open to all youth under the age of 10. Various community groups will have booths and will pass out candy and treats to participants. No registration is taken for this program.
