Smoky Mountain Senior Games

  • Senior Games is a statewide program for senior citizens ages fifty and over. Participants compete in a variety of athletic events. Events include: basketball shooting, football throw, softball throw, spincasting, croquet, billiards, horseshoes, shuffleboard, cornhole, bocce, tennis, table tennis, bowling, track & field events, pickleball, and golf. There is also a Silver Arts program where seniors can display their talents in the arts. The subcategories include: heritage arts, visual arts, literary arts, and performing arts.   • Our local Smoky Mountain Senior Games program is held in April and May each year. Registration begins in February. Participants compete in age categories for each event. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers qualify for the North Carolina Senior Games State Finals held in the Raleigh area each September and October. 

Senior Fitness Class

Senior Walk

  • This class will incorporate endurance, strength, balance, flexibility, movement while having fun at the same time. Age requirements are fifty-five and up.

Senior Fitness

  • This one hour class utilizes the track in the facility. Periodically, we will stop to stretch and increase our strength. Meets every Tuesday and Thursday at the Cashiers/Glenville Recreation Center.
